(ann-GOON) A traditional Tlingit community of about 500 on Admiralty Island , on the southwest coast at Kootznahoo Inlet 55 miles southwest of Juneau and 40 miles northeast of Sitka . A second-class city.
Schools: Angoon is the home of the Chatham School District, which also includes Gustavus, Angoon, Klukwan, and Tenakee Springs. Economy: Fishing, subsistence.
